Awards and test seals
Bauerfeind products not only fulfill standards – they satisfy the highest standards of quality, effectiveness and wearing comfort. This is confirmed by inspection procedures, for which our products are permitted to bear the seals and marks after successful testing.
Design also plays a role in the acceptance of supports, orthoses, compression stockings and orthopedic orthoses by patients. For this reason, right from the product development phase we attach great importance to attractive design that makes it clear how our products work. Bauerfeind has received multiple awards for this.
iF material award
The internationally recognized iF award is conferred for excellent design by iF Industrie Forum Design e. V. Products compete in six categories: the iF material award is given in recognition of effective and efficient use of materials, taking into account sustainability.

Every year the "Initiative Form und Leben" (Form and Life Initiative) confers the DESIGN PLUS award at the international Ambiente consumer goods exhibition in Frankfurt. With this award, an international jury recognizes excellent and functional design.

Baden-Württemberg International Design Prize
Every year the Stuttgart Design Center awards the Baden-Württemberg International Design Prize for first-class product design. The Center is the first institution of its type and at the same time the only state-owned design center in Germany.

red dot award: product design
Since 1955 the North Rhine-Westphalia Design Center has been recognizing exceptional product design with the red dot. An internationally composed jury assesses industrial goods for innovation, functionality, ergonomics and self-explanatory design.

REHACARE DESIGN AWARD
In co-operation with red dot projects, Düsseldorf Exhibition awarded the REHACARE DESIGN AWARD for the first time in 2008 at the "REHACARE INTERNATIONAL" trade fair to products that impressed the jury by innovation and quality in design.

Qualitymanagement
The International Organization for Standardization processes guidelines for the design of quality management systems, in order to optimize products and processes and make them checkable. Standards such as DIN EN ISO 9001 impose requirements upon this system. The corresponding certificate is proof that Bauerfeind fulfills these standards, for example in development, production, marketing and sales.
RAL-Symbol
The RAL quality symbol guarantees the quality and safety of our medical compression stockings. Testing by an independent, state-certified institute begins in the manufacturing phase. The checks extend beyond the statutory provisions of the Medical Devices Act in Germany and the EU directive for medical products.
LYCRA®
LYCRA® fibre adds comfort, fit, shape retention, durability and freedom of movement. It has unique elongation and recovery properties. Combined with natural or man-made fibres LYCRA® fibre enhances e.g. the characteristics of premium compression legwear. These garments are marked with the brand logos LYCRA® MEDICAL, LYCRA® SOFT COMFORT or LYCRA® SPORT.
Öko-Tex
The "Öko-Text Standard 100" seal shows that only materials and production methods that are ecologically harmless are used in the manufacture of the product.
CE-Label
Products that bear the CE mark comply with European directives on product safety, for example the German Medical Devices Act.
FSC certificate
The FSC label on our brochures and packaging is a clear indication that the material originates from responsibly managed forests. It guarantees that the material has not been mixed with non-certified (and, therefore, non-controlled) wood or paper at any point of the supply chain between the forest and you. Products with the FSC label come with the assurance that forests are managed in line with the social, economic and ecological needs of both the present and future generations.
AEO-F = Authorized Economic Operator DE AEOF 111045
The status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO-F) enables companies throughout the European Union, as well as in other areas, to obtain authorizations for customs procedures with an economic impact and other simplified procedures in a simple way and without any need for retesting. This status is awarded based on the fulfillment of extensive requirements relating to reliability, solvency, previous compliance with the relevant legislation and, where applicable, the fulfillment of certain safety standards. By obtaining this certificate, we are also securing several competitive factors in the international movement of goods.
