ORTHOPÄDIE + REHA-TECHNIK 2012

The seventh ORTHOPÄDIE + REHA-TECHNIK event, held in Leipzig from May 16 to 18, attracted some 20,000 visitors from 93 different countries, once again confirming its status as the world's leading trade fair. At the Bauerfeind stand, the new ErgoPad weightflex foot orthosis proved a very popular attraction.

The foot orthosis features an orthotic core that combines two synthetic components and can easily be worn in shoes with higher heels. As well as the new foot orthosis, Bauerfeind's trade fair offering also focused on the SofTec Genu knee orthosis for treating cruciate ligament injuries and the Bodytronic 300 measurement technology.

Participants from the first Jugend.Akademie TO, a youth training program for future orthopedic specialists, also had the opportunity to expand their knowledge: over 400 trainee orthopedic technicians and students from Germany and Switzerland had made the trip to Leipzig. They visited the trade fair and took part in workshops and talks held by the program's partners – including Bauerfeind.

There was also no shortage of fun to be had at the Bauerfeind stand: visitors of all ages threw themselves into the basketball, javelin throwing and golf activities on offer in Bauerfeind's "Olympic village" with plenty of enthusiasm. Prizes were awarded to the most skilful players at the end of each day.

The trade fair organizers, in association with the German Association of Orthopedic Technology, also arranged for the event to be recorded on video. The ErgoPad weightflex foot orthosis, seen in use at the trade fair stand, was among the features caught on camera.
