New Design – Proven Effect

25 Years GenuTrain® –The Original

For 25 years GenuTrain has proven highly effective for treating knee ailments – it reduces pain and relieves the joint. Patients suffering from irritations or instability receive the necessary treatment from the support which enables them to remain active. Like all our active supports, GenuTrain works in combination with movement: It provides a massage effect that stimulates the musculature surrounding the joint and increases joint stability.

Highlights of the new GenuTrain

Bauerfeind developed the first GenuTrain active support 25 years ago. The idea, based on the principal of functional therapy using compression supports, came from the then team physician for the German National Football Team in 1974, Prof. Heinrich Hess. The businessman Hans B. Bauerfeind implemented the idea together with Prof. Hess and his professional colleague Prof. Wolfgang Krause. The result was the first fully automated flat knitted support with viscoelastic inserts. The knee product was followed by active supports for the back, ankle, knee, hand and elbow.

A special product for arthritis patients, GenuTrain A3 has been nominated for the German National Design Prize for 2007.
