QUEEN OF THE MOUNTAIN THERESA SENFF

“A good feeling” with compression stockings, 08/10/2006

During this year’s International Thuringen Women’s Cycling Race, cyclist Theresa Senff allowed her legs to be measured digitally and contact-free by the local medical product manufacturer Bauerfeind. She was ultimately treated with medical compression stockings. She now reports on her first experience with stockings as she visits the plant in Zeulenroda.

She tried the VenoTrain micro custom: “I wear the stockings in the car or on a plane trip and I am positively amazed.” The 24 year old was most recently at a competition in Sweden and Denmark. Her conclusion: “During long car rides or when I sit or stand a lot my legs often feel heavy. With compression hosiery I have a good feeling. My legs are lighter for training the next day. Usually you have to elevate the legs or cycle for 30 kilometers before they feel loose.”

At the International Thuringen Women’s Cycling Race in July, Theresa Senff asserted herself again as the Queen of the Mountain in the overall standings and won the silver mountain jersey from Bauerfeind. During the plant tour, the competitor from Arnstädt learned about the company’s products and services. That was also particularly interesting to her because she studies sports medicine with a concentration in prevention and rehabilitation at Jena University. Theresa Senff does not see a problem with the compatibility of her professional sport and education. On the contrary: “I can’t imagine a better life. It’s a whole different world – Sunday in the saddle and Monday sitting again at a lecture.” When asked her opinion regarding the current doping investigations in professional cycling, the prospective sports medicine specialist answered: ‘I think it’s good that they are cracking down on it. It’s not just about fairness, it’s also about health.”
