INSOLES FOR GERMAN LADIES GOLF CHAMPIONS

Whether teeing off or putting: Only when a person is relaxed and secure can they produce a precise, controlled and dynamic swing. The Ladies Golf and Country Club Team Berlin-Wannsee e.V. (GLCBW), winners of the German team championship in 2006, now wear precise fitting, custom made golf shoe insoles.
“Correct positioning of the body when swinging is greatly determined by foot placement. Precise foot support through insoles optimizes the entire body positioning and provides a performance bonus,” says Yve Schwarze, Sales Director for Germany, Dynamic Fitting Feet Systems GmbH. In cooperation with Bauerfeind, they took foot pressure measurements for GLC Berlin-Wannsee with MediLogic. The players then each received a custom made pair of insoles for their golf and everyday shoes.
Miriam Hiller, Youth and Performance Sports Coordinator for the Club and a member of the women’s team herself was very enthusiastic about the process. “The team responded very positively. Feet are often a forgotten area. As long as they don’t hurt, people don’t think that insoles are necessary. I recently received advice from a sports medicine specialist on which type might be best for me, since my feet bend inwards a little bit. The insoles give me a really good feeling when I’m walking and standing. It was also great that they were finished so quickly.”
For Annette Pleß, captain of the women’s team and, like Hiller, past member of the national German Golf Club team, the preventive aspect is the most important. “I’m really happy about the potential that the foot pressure measuring and custom finishing provides. I’ve never had problems with shoes and have just used standard shoe insoles. But the longer and better that I play, the more value I place on prevention. These individually fitted insoles are a real improvement. Now I really shouldn’t have any orthopedic problems.” This season in particular the women have a lot at stake. “Naturally we want to defend our championship title,” says Miriam Hiller confidently.
