Bauerfeind AG

Bauerfeind Quality Partner Advisory Board elected, 03/12/2008

In future, 15 speciality retailers from each of the German States will represent the interests of over 1000 of their professional colleagues who have entered into partnership with Bauerfeind. The aim of the partnership is to guarantee the quality of patient care and to foster active involvement in the future of the sector. The new body will hold its inaugural meeting on 4 April in Zeulenroda, after which it will meet three times a year, to provide ongoing active support in implementing and maintaining the Bauerfeind Quality Partner Programme.

Each Federal State delegates one representative to sit on the Quality Partner Advisory Board. The City States of Bremen and Hamburg have each been assigned to their adjacent Federal State. North Rhine Westfalia has been divided into two electoral districts (Rhineland and Westfalia-Lippe). The entire election process was conducted via a trustee.

The following persons were elected to serve on the Advisory Board: Werner Dierolf (Baden-Württemberg), Thomas Rattenhuber (Bavaria), Stephan Schildhauer (Berlin), Ronald Hinz (Brandenburg), Michael Maisch (Hesse), Gunar Liebau (Mecklenburg-Upper Pomerania), Carsten Strangmann (Lower Saxony), Torsten Quarg (North Rhine Westfalia/Rhineland), Wolf Schultes (North Rhine Westfalia/Westfalia-Lippe), Jürgen Thillmann (Rhineland Palatinate), Lutz Jäger (Saarland), Ronald Werner (Saxony), Jürgen Fritsch (Saxony-Anhalt), Thomas Dwuzet (Schleswig-Holstein) und Volker Strogies (Thuringia).
During the inaugural meeting on 4 April, the Advisory Board members elected their chairman and drew up their constitution, following which the Board held its first ordinary meeting. The agenda already contained some topical items related to the Quality Partner Programme.

The Quality Partner Programme is an initiative of Bauerfeind AG. It encourages cooperation between manufacturers and speciality retailers, with the goal of future-proofing the quality of patient care, through high quality products, competent advice and comprehensive service. Over 1000 speciality retailers in Germany have joined this initiative. They are getting involved in Bauerfeind training and development schemes and are implementing marketing campaigns with the manufacturer of medical aids from Thuringia, which draw attention to the products offered by the specialty retailer in question.

The Chairman of the company’s Executive Board, Prof. Hans B. Bauerfeind, announced the election of a Partner Advisory Board in Dusseldorf in October 2007, at the 2nd Bauerfeind Industry Forum. In describing this body, unique so far within the industry, he said “The Advisory Board will be a representative body for the quality partners within our company, will act as their mouthpiece and will also convey our joint message.”
