PARTNERSHIP IN WEIMAR

Goethe meets Ballack, 06/22/2006

During the Football World Cup 2006, the theater plaza in Weimar is transformed daily into a Mecca for football fans. Under the motto “Goethe and Schiller watch football” the games are telecast live. Visitors and football fans are offered sports, fun, accommodations and other events. On June 20, the Schorr orthopedic store from Erfurt and Bauerfeind AG made the most of the good atmosphere in the city for a partnership day.

With jealous eyes Goethe and Schiller watched the festivities on the plaza from their pedestals. Shortly after noon the stage show began with a support presentation – featuring the knee support GenuTrain, of course. Finally the idea became a reality, and during a football world cup. The team doctor for the German National Team in 1974 – Prof. Dr. Heinrich Hess – used an English treatment method and turned the principles of compression therapy for sports injuries into a knee bandage – a revolution in support technology!

In addition to therapeutic medical products, the innovative measuring systems Image 3D and MediLogic were introduced and presented live. At the information stands for community activities, individual consultations were available with representatives from the Schorr orthopedic store and Bauerfeind AG. Foot problems were also discussed on location. With the MediLogic foot pressure measuring system, the orthopedic technologists identified pressure points under the foot. The problem zones were visually displayed to help determine foot defects, such as deformities, and provide gait analysis. The offer was enthusiastically received.

Those who hadn’t broken into a sweat under the afternoon sun in Weimar certainly had a warm heart after the Germany versus Ecuador match. The 3-0 victory of the German team with Michael Ballack was surely the crowning glory of a day marked by football, health and well-being.
