Martin Körber is Germany’s Best Orthopedic Handworker for the Year, 11/28/2006

The winners of this year’s best young German Handworker awards received their recognition certificates from the hands of president Horst Köhler on November 25 in SpOrt Stuttgart. Martin Körber was selected as the winner of the performance competition in orthopedic technical handwork. A student of technical orthopedics at Münster Technical College, he already successfully completed an apprenticeship for orthopedic technology in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Among the more than 700 guests at the celebration in Stuttgart was also the namesake of the president: Holger Köhler from the retail store of the same name in Lübz, the company that Martin Körber completed his training with in January of this year. Apparently it was very good training – a necessary requirement to retain the level of quality in Germany handwork, as the president emphasized. In his speech he appealed to the consumer to show more interest in quality and not just price, and to consider the price – performance relationship. Only then handwork will have a chance to assert itself against discounters.

As a manufacturer of high-quality products and treatment systems, Bauerfeind supports handwork by maintaining its top level efforts, training quality and performance quality. The medical product manufacturer promotes a closer relationship between research and practical application through an endowment to the “Technical Orthopedics” department at Münster Technical College. Martin Körber also utilizes this offer, as he would like to become an orthopedic technician. Like his fellow students he knows: the keys to success are a high-quality education, excellent academic performance, flexibility – and strongly performing partners in the field like Bauerfeind that transfer knowledge from the classroom to the industry and back again and again.
