Starting gun for project “mini cook Europe” at the Seehotel, 11/02/2006

Zeulenroda-Triebes: Through an initiative of the public standard school Langenwetzendorf and the Seehotel Zeulenroda there has been a second project of the “mini cook Europe” in the new federal states since October of this year.

The district chief executive Martina Schweinsburg took on patronage of the 2 year long project. On 10.26.2006 the organic land group “Thuringen Vogtland” started the program with 20 mini cooks.

Project “mini cook Europe” was started by Chef Jürgen Mädger. For several years his mission for this campaign has been: Health, through nutritious food in a sound environment (Bartholomew’s three pillar theory). And Mädger says: “We can only secure our future if we pass on our knowledge and our skills to our children.”

Currently in the Thuringen Vogtland: Children between 10 and 14 years old are now involved in the topic of health through nutritious food in a sound environment. Not only systematic consideration of the environment is accomplished but also regional awareness. The job descriptions for hotel and restaurant industry professionals are appropriate for tying together the themes of health, nutrition and environment. The children are taught about this theme in a fun way as well as the importance of career training. Through an IHK certificate the youths applying for a training position in the future have an advantage. The campaign is also worthwhile for business policy reasons.

Almost 40 students from various schools in the Greiz area have applied for the organic group “Thuringen Vogtland”.
