Thuringian Parliament President offers congratulations on honorary professorship, 12/04/2007
At the end of November, the Münster University of Applied Sciences had bestowed an honorary professorship on Board Chairman Hans B. Bauerfeind for many years of commitment to the students of the Technical Orthopedics course at that university. Prof. Dr. Dagmar Schipanski, President of the Thuringian Parliament, was among those offering congratulations. She delivered a speech on the occasion of the ceremony at the headquarters of Bauerfeind AG in Zeulenroda-Triebes last Friday.
„The Bauerfeind family represent the new beginning and the skills of Thuringia in the best sense of these words. With Hans B. Bauerfeind, the Münster University of Applied Sciences won for the training of students an outstanding manager representing daily practice in the industry“, Dagmar Schipanski told over 150 representatives of industry, politics and science.
The Parliament President placed the development of industry in Thuringia in the focus of her speech and, in this connection, also referred to the Bauerfeind AG: „Hans B. Bauerfeind is one of those entrepreneurs of the first hour who restored some of the self-confidence which the formerly proud industrial state of Thuringia had lost after the political change“, Schipanski said. She stated: „Today, the Bauerfeind AG is an all-German and – I add this with some proud in my voice – a Thuringian company which a clear commitment not only to its own past but also to Zeulenroda.“
For the first time, the Bauerfeind AG belongs to the 100 largest eastern German companies. It is listed among the „Eastern Top 100“ which the daily „Die Welt“ just published for the 11th time. With a turnover of 200 million EUR, Bauerfeind ranks 96th.
The Bauerfeind AG will continue its commitment to the further development of technical orthopedics in theory and practice. This was promised by Prof. Hans B. Bauerfeind both in front of the student audience in Steinfurt and at the event at the Bauerfeind AG HQ in Zeulenroda-Triebes. Here, the honorary professor shook hands with many who offered their best wishes. For example, Dr. Ernst Pohlen, Executive Director of eurocom e.V., conveyed the best wishes of the industrial association. He pointed out that all involved in technical orthopedics would profit from this commitment: industry, trades and crafts businesses, science and students, and not least of all, the patients, whose wellbeing was of particular importance to Hans B. Bauerfeind. Vice President Prof. Dr. Klaus Niederdrenk offered congratulations on behalf of the Münster University of Applied Sciences. Prof. Dr. Brun-Hagen Hennerkes, Chairman of the Supervisory Council of Bauerfeind AG, entertained the guest.
